The concept for SCRC came from a "need." Matthew and Quinton's band was looking to make a record, and quickly found that a budget of nearly $10K was needed. Considering Matthew has been recording people out of his living room for seven years prior, the idea was suggested to move all of the equipment to a friend's bar for a night and cut a live record. Long story short...it worked, and Sad Cowboy was born. 

Specializing in live multi-tracking, SCRC produced nearly a dozen projects in the first couple months of operation. With quickly expanding operations, a recorded concert was held for the KU School of Music, and the decision was made to move to a larger facility that could better accommodate the audience capacity and requirements for bringing a traditional audience into a recording environment. Now, we are excited to see where this takes us!
